Matthew Wood: Selling out

Can a student sell out?

For my final major project, I will put my show space up for sale to the highest bidder to see the power of the Chelsea brand, while also seeing if a student can sell out before they are in industry.

I will either:

Advertise to attract other college students, or anyone creative who maybe would like to show their work at Chelsea, or see it as fast track way to show work in a degree show without spending 3 years, and paying tuition fees.
Advertise to any company who wants to advertise in my space even if it’s not creative, and therefore truly sell out for the money.

The methods to market my space would include posters around London, newspapers adverts and the internet to name a few. The body of work would come from the advertising and responses of emails and phone calls.
It would also be a way to advertise and promote when the Chelsea show is on, as well as seeing if a student can truly sell out.

Corny, silly, one trick pony- there I've said it. Also not legally possible within the Chelsea College durisdiction. You have way more talent than this idea. What can we get in your portfolio that will get you teh job of your dreams?
