I have thought again, and would like to refer back to my dissertation: 'Blogging: The art of post modern journalism', which discussed the notion of citizen journalism/blogging replacing traditional media such as newspapers.
Newspapers are destined to 'check out in 2044'. But how will we live without them?
People use newspapers for so many things other than just a format for reading the news, such as insulation, doodling, papier mâché; and in the past, loo paper, cleaning windows, making fires, fly swotting etc.
Without newspapers, what will we have to recycle?
So why not reinvent the newspaper as the ultimate versatile product? Persuading people to buy the newspaper to use, not to read...
Create a newspaper with a twist-when opened each page is perforated, ready to rip out to use for specific purposes. Or a page is covered in vinegar ready for window cleaning. Or instructions on how to make a paper boat.
Or the idea of promoting the newspaper as a product - no need to buy windolene, use the newspaper. This could be in the form of a TV advert.
Or a retrospective...
The outcome of this FMP could take many forms- a newspaper itself with a twist, a newspaper sculpture, a witty film, adverts, poster campaign.

Doubts on both counts here I'm afraid...Show signaege is done centrally by the Uni and is already in production,
Secondly, graphics meets popular culture....done soooooooo many times, what is new to say?!

Charlie.
Like the vinegar infused newspaper; just add fish and chips!

Really liking the 'newspaaper' focus....lots of mileage here. It reminds me of 'The End of Print' debate that was around 10 or more years ago. The newsaper as versatile product good angle.
