Hi...apologies that time was against me and I could'nt get to meet with you yesterday, (interviewing new, propspective GDComm candidates had to come first). I have however had a look at initial Brighter Journal designs nad think that in the main there is energy and originality that is heading in the right direction.
I do however have problems with the cover concepts which are bland and evokes very little and the type used within the body of the text which, for me, is utilitarian, connectic and somewhat dated. Overall your layout and use of space is very good.
Without appearing to be overly difficult, I really do need a working version that I can hold, turn and mark...I find flat, pagination difficult to 'animate' as a working editorial.
Some very high quality work happening in the house Ana! Some interesting stuff going on with the use of your brighter font... getting more energetic with each version I see.
After GTS comment (and all your very welcome thoughts) I've started looking again to the typeface I've chosen for the copy and not liking it so much... he has a point and I'm starting to agree... I went very much for my personal taste and didn't really push it too hard when thinking about the contemporary statement that this journal should be!
Well... I will try my luck with font font again and see if they can still back me up for this one.
Not so sure though....!
Anyway, I still have another trick in my sleeve, as Sam Wilson from Six Design offered their extensive font library to look at and chose from, which then gives me no margin for error!!!
Thanks so much for putting all this work in Ana! Must be such a challenge to juggle layout, printing and waiting for students to make group decisions. I'm sure the final piece is going to look fantastic! Joanna

Thank you for the feedback, the covers need some thought and I'm conscious that what I have so far, is not the perfect visual match...
As the font goes, I will seek for an alternative, and show them both.
Will have a mock up ready and printed soon.
wicked stuff ana x
I really like the organization of the journal! Looking forward to seeing layouts!
