Sean Gall

I plan to build a life size fully working tin robot with a television screen in its chest. It may have similar slides to the toys shown on its chest (they were usually images of space-scapes )or it may be used to display other peoples work? It will also be accompanied with a full size cardboard box in which it could be contained. This object is linked with my dissertation subject.

Sean...a giant robot has show appeal and strong novelty value. I'm concerned that you are taking the approved example of the gtiant giraffe motion ride too literally and there could be some suspicion that copying of core concepts is going on. The robot would have to move and its fabrication be exacting, (possibly very hard to do- and expensive). You do not offer any context to support this project or offer a reason for ist purpose- hence your assesseable content is weak. You need t6o provide more!

actually me and Anna both talked about our ideas at the same time, so there was no copying of concepts. I've already planned out the expenses and the building process, and I don't think it will be that hard to make and be that much to construct, the most expensive piece will be the television monitor.

Plus I haven't been in or heard from anyone who's ideas have been approved as i've been in and out of hospital for the past week due to me dislocating my shoulder recently

it is true that both sean and i told eachother of ideas at exactly the same time, before we presented our ideas to anyone else. both of our ideas were fully developed before we said anything to eachother...

No hint of copying intended, jsut wanted to make sure ideas sufficiently different. So all cool.
Anna will help fill you in on the broader contextual requirments and how to record additional work to support the final object.
I still need an answer to the questions I raised regarding rationale.

could the robot have a lil video camera in its head?

then show & record the video of the show from the point of view of a robot?? - bit obscure i know

could be kinda cool, its an option for what could be displayed on the chest.

Cheers for input
