98 projects in 98 days- Melissa, New Project

I hope to produce 98 projects (one for each day of the 14 weeks)- ranging from the sophisticated to the silly.

I will document the progress of work and create a visual timeline to accompany the projects themselves.

you might find it hard to find 98 clients, but if you pitch it to them as ' you do the work for free & they can use if they want' it would work - sold as seen.

you don't want clients phoning up 3 days later saying they want stuff changed!

I think she means 98 personal projects? Or maybe we could each in turn set a one word brief a day for 98 days and see what you can do with it?

As suggested, potentially very cool project. Strategic planning before the commencement of the 98 days will be essential. Aim to cover an entire range of project experiences...

Firstly, a big thanks to the comments.

I have already been thinking so much about this brief, and can see how, simliar to the RSA Water brief, it is already drving mad with obsession!

I definitely plan to 'aim high' with this project and whilst there will undoutedly be a few personal projects integrated, I want to include a wide range of briefs (in terms of scale, time, clients and genres) that are mostly Live.

I would be very grateful to anyone who can pass on details of potential clients to use. I already have a few, however with 98 as my target, I need all the help I can get!

Many thanks in advance for your co-operation...you will be credited in my, what will be, epic documentation.

Dare you to arrange to get a one- day project from Andy Stephens, the examiner, (Graphic Thought Facility) when you meet him on thursday!

I will absolutely do that! Madly already started preparing a timetable for my 98 days, so I'll find him a slot and pencil him in.

Well, as sad aas it sounds, didnt get much sleep, because I was so excited! Just spent the morning on the phone and have mananged to secure a couple of projects, with few still to be negotiated:

1) Wonderland magazine- with a view for the final piece to be included as an article in the June Edition, plus additional projects from Luke Lobley/ Alex Geoffrey.

2) Music Band merchandise- Battle, signed to EMI/ Warner Brothers. T-shirt design to be sold at gigs/ and from official site.

3) AAR- Law Practice- Stationary package, to include flyers, letter-heads, logo and business cards.

I have also been in touch with Tracy, Pete and Luke to assign me a 4week 2nd year project, to be completed in one day and Nigel, for the same project, and additional projects for Graham (printers near old Street).

I am still negotiating with some other clients such as Metographics- a personalising jewellery company based in London and a Fashion designer based in Canada.

Will keep you posted.

In the meantime...need a project done...give me a call...

Thanks,
Melissa

do you do websites?

Unfortunately, my knowledge on web-sites are limited, but display screens and holding pages would be ok. However, I don't want it to let down the rest of my work.

I'm intrigued! I'm flattered, espcially as you know it's a daily project...but I'm not one to turn down a challenge...if your up for it, so am I!
